About Rutherford
Rutherford Elementary provides a literature-based curriculum nurtured by team-teaching and cooperative learning. Students use the latest in technology to improve their reading and writing skills. Mathematics workshops and Science kits give students opportunities to learn complex concepts through hands-on practice. Rutherford has received the unique distinction of having Kentucky’s best Family Resource Center. The Center strives to remove obstacles to learning so that students and families can focus on the child’s academic success. Rutherford offers Early Childhood Jump Start programs for four year-olds and Extended School Services. Rutherford is a School-Based Decision Making School, and a participant in the Comprehensive School Health Education Project. Academic team, STLP, cheer leading, and basketball are also offered at Rutherford.
